Conceptual & Basic Design for a new sterilisation autoclave

Challenge

As part of a site capacity increase to produce Injectable products, the customer plans to increase its autoclaving capacity.

Mission

ILS supported the customer with a conceptual design followed by a basic design. During the conceptual design, ILS sized the autoclaving equipment(s) by carrying out different capacity analysis scenarios. Subsequently, ILS proposed several locations in an existing building, evaluating at each time, the GMP, technical (building, utilities, infrastructures), site works, maintenance, costs, time shedule and phasing impacts. Thanks to that, a scenario has been validated at the end of the conceptual design and during the basic design, detailed technical specifications with their layout has been done for the purchasing of construction companies.
