Conceptual Design & Development of a Industrial Master Plan – Gene therapy plant

Challenge

ILS participated in the realization of a Master Plan aimed at evaluating the different industrial options in line with the strategic plan for the development of the client’s activities on its various production sites.

Mission

Based on market data and potential products to be manufactured within the scope of this Master Plan, ILS has assessed and sized the technical solutions to be implemented on the production processes of biological active ingredients and finished products. A certain number of technological choices were compared in order to identify the best solution meeting the expectations of flexibility, capacity and modularity while guaranteeing economic profitability integrating investment and operating costs.
Different industrial units have been sized and a typical layout of the industrial units has been defined. These units were then combined under several options (Revamping, greenfield, etc.).
Clean utilities as well as the HVAC have been sized for each industrial unit, thus making it possible to define the needs for black utilities.
Investment Cost and Operating Cost estimation was carried out as well as a multi-criteria comparison and a risk analysis of the different scenarii.
